Trump: Presidents Can Declassify Documents ‘By Thinking About It’ – Doesn’t Need To Be A Trial

Former President Donald Trump said on FNC’s “Hannity” on Wednesday that a United States president can release all documents without a trial.

Hannity said, “A president has the power to declassify.”

Trump said, “Right.”

Hannity said, “You’ve said a number of times on Truth Social that you released declassification.”

Trump said, “I released yes.”

Hannity asked, “What was your process of declassifying?”

Trump replied, “There doesn’t have to be a trial, as I understand it. You know, there are different people saying different things. As I understand it, it doesn’t have to be. If you’re the President of the United States, you can declassify you by just saying ‘It’s declassified’ Even by thinking about it Because you send it to Mar-a-Lago or wherever you send it. There doesn’t have to be a process. There can be a process, but you don’t have to. You’re the chairman. You make that decision. So when you send it, it’s released. I’ve released everything.”

He added: “I would say there is a very good chance that many of those documents will never be seen again.”

Trump added: “They spied on my campaign, so why did they come in to do that? Especially because we had such good conversations.”
