Donald Trump says he can release top secret government documents just by thinking about them.
In an interview with TBEN News host Sean Hannity, the former president reiterated his claim that dozens of classified and confidential papers seized from this Mar-a-Lago house had been released.
Asked about the process needed to do that, Mr. Trump said, “There doesn’t have to be a trial, as I understand it. If you’re the president of the United States, you can declaim, even by thinking about it.”
Whether the papers found in his Florida home were kept secret or not — and how much that affects whether he was allowed to have them or not — has been under debate since the Aug. 8 search.
While Mr Trump has repeatedly claimed the papers have been released, his lawyers have been hesitant to make the same claims in court.
