Brexit blow as ministers find 1,400 extra EU laws

Government plans for a bonfire of red tape in the EU after Brexit have been dealt another blow after it was discovered it may need to repeal 1,400 more laws than previously thought.

Ministers who collaborated with the National Archives found the additional legal text. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin or any other Russian representative attending next week’s G20 summit will “confront” over Moscow’s invasion of Moscow, Downing Street has said.

The summit in Bali, Indonesia, will take place on November 15-16, and the Kremlin has yet to say whether Putin will attend, amid reports that he could participate virtually.

‘Ding dong’: Carry On star Leslie Phillips dies at age 98

Leslie Phillips, famous for starring in the Carry On films, has died at the age of 98.

The veteran actor, who died Monday, has been in the limelight for eight decades and became known for his evocative catchphrases, including “Ding dong”, “Well, hello” and “I say!”.
