UAE reports 1,262 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death


Abu Dhabi: Another 1,262 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the UAE, bringing the country’s total COVID-19 infections to 157,785, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said on Saturday.

One new death from the deadly virus has been reported, bringing the UAE’s death toll to 548.

The ministry also announced the full recovery of 771 new cases after receiving needed treatment, bringing that number to 148,080 of the total recovered.

The latest coronavirus patients, who are all in stable condition and are receiving necessary care, have been identified after performing more than 133,003 additional COVID-19 tests among UAE citizens and residents in the past few days.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients, calling on the public to cooperate with health authorities and comply with all precautionary measures, including social distancing protocols, to ensure public safety and protection.
