Helen Grant, UK Trade Envoy to Nigeria, ranked the country’s economy as Africa’s fastest growing.
The note came on the same day that statistics show Nigeria entered recession again.
Grant spoke at the Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) hosted by the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), reports NAN.
The ambassador assured that the British government was ready to strengthen trade relations with Africa’s most populous nation.
Grant pointed out that the country is full of investment opportunities and potentials.
“We look forward to coming to Nigeria to identify ourselves with viable businesses that the UK government could partner with to generate real and long-term benefits for both countries,” she said.
The World Bank had hinted that the collapse in oil prices and the coronavirus could drag Nigeria into the worst recession since the 1980s.
