In accordance with guidelines issued by the Center for Unlock 5.0, UT states / governments have been allowed to open schools after October 15, 2020, on a graduated basis.
The decision will be made in consultation with the management of the respective school / institution, based on their assessment of the situation, the guidelines set out.
Currently, three states have put their name in the hat for the opening of schools from October 19. They will be opening schools in areas outside of containment zones from Oct. 19 to students in grades 9 to 12.
Classes will resume with strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocol, including limiting class attendance to 50% per day for reasons of social distancing.
Here are the states that will resume classes in schools in a graduated manner:
Schools for students in grades 9 to 12 will reopen in areas outside of state containment zones starting October 19. Schools will open three hours a day.
Online learning courses will continue and be the preferred mode of instruction. The presence of all students will not be compulsory.
Students will only be able to attend physical classes with the written consent of parents.
Parents will need to make sure their child wears a face mask at school. If the strength of the students is great at school and the standards of social distancing are not maintainable, in this case, the school principal or the principal may decide to hold the lessons in two teams or to call the students. every other day, at their own level.
Winter holidays will be completely phased out this year and classes will be held six days a week, Saturday being half a day. However, all notified holidays will be in place.
The current academic session will end on February 13, 2021 and the next one will start two days later, on February 15.
Classes 6-8 will resume from November 2 and classes 3, 4 and 5 on November 23, on a voluntary basis.
Pupils in grades 11 and 12 will be able to attend schools on a voluntary basis from October 19. All must obtain written permission from their parents or guardians.
Schools will open in strict compliance with the SOPs issued by the Center.
A timetable has been prepared by the national education department, according to which institutes will have to make certain arrangements before reopening.
Senior students in grades 9 to 12 will be allowed to come to schools after obtaining permission from their parents.
50 percent of the students should be called into each class one day and the remaining 50 percent the following day.
The lessons will be conducted in teams and all necessary protocols, including social distancing and adequate sanitation of the premises will have to be followed by the schools.
No student would have to come to school.
