Volkswagen Taigun set to launch in India around August or September 2021
The Volkswagen Taigun is one of the highly anticipated launches for 2021, and it is expected to launch around the holiday season. However, before its launch, Volkswagen dealers have already started accepting unofficial reservations for the new compact SUV, for a token of ₹ 25,000. Some of the dealers we spoke to also told us that the SUV would go on sale in India around August or September 2021, and that the price would be around 15 lakh (on the road).
We have contacted Volkswagen India for confirmation of reservations, however, at the time of posting this story, our email to the company has gone unanswered. That said, knowledgeable sources said the company has yet to start accepting official reservations for the upcoming VW Taigun. We expect the company to open the official reservation for the SUV as its launch approaches.
The Volkswagen Taigun is one of the first models to be built on the company’s locally developed MQB A0 IN platform, which also underpins the upcoming Skoda Kushaq. In fact, Skoda’s SUV is expected to launch before the Taigun. Visually, the SUV comes with heavy chrome details, as well as LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, as well as a sturdy bumper with more chrome details and a fake skid plate. There is more coating on the sides and wheel arches as well as sporty two-tone alloy rims. At the rear, the SUV is fitted with attractive LED tail lights connected by a large LED light bar which adds to the premium design, with the Taigun lettering in the center position.

The SUV also receives a bunch of storage pockets, a center armrest and two-tone fabric and faux leather upholstery.
