Leicester took a second Europa League Group G win to stay 100% after a 2-1 professional win over AEK Athens at the Opap Arena.

The Foxes’ victory came thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and Hamza Choudhury.

The forward ignored a calf injury after coming off the bench to score the winner in Sunday’s 1-0 win at Arsenal.

Roma player Cengiz Under also got his first start in Greece, but Timothy Castange and Jonny Evans were left out.

Vardy opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 18th minute. The kick on the spot was awarded after being fouled by the goalkeeper and the attacker did not make a mistake immediately.

The Foxes doubled their lead in Greece six minutes before half-time when Hamza Choudhury shot in the corner of James Maddison.

Leicester’s lead was halved just four minutes after the restart when Muamer Tankovic converted after a good job from Petros Mantolas.

The goal came after breaking the offside trap to shoot Kasper Schmeichel.

The Greeks did their best to find an equalizer, but the Foxes were able to withstand the pressure and earned the victory.

The result leaves Brendan Rodgers‘side on six points alongside SC Braga. The Foxes appear to be well valued alongside the Portuguese squad to progress in the group and take the next step in the Europa League.
