WATCH: Former federal agent says Trump’s big mistake was thinking all federal employees were ‘patriots’

Former federal agent Gary Collins, who served nearly 20 years in the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Food and Drug Administration, recently spoke to Brett Smith of TBEN about the corruption of the FBI during the Trump administration and mistreatment of those deemed internal threats by the current administration.

Collins, who left the federal job in 2012 after becoming disillusioned with what he viewed as unethical practices and borderline illegal behavior by federal employees, told Smith how former President Trump could have permanently reformed the federal government during his only term in office.

Trump’s Biggest Mistake and Biggest Missed Opportunity? Do not immediately fire and replace every person appointed by Obama.

“I said when he was first elected, I was talking to friends, if he doesn’t walk in there and immediately hand out at least two to three thousand pink notes, he’s in trouble,” Collins said.

‘And they said ‘why?’ and I’m going because he’s not a politician and he’s said things that will scare people.”

Collins continued to point out that during Obama’s two terms in office, Obama had “infiltrated every cabinet out there. He made sure to plant people everywhere.”

Because of this, Collins argues that none of the Obama appointees who were allowed to remain during Trump’s transition to the presidency in 2017 would ever give Trump a fair chance to lead.

“If you don’t lose these people, they’re going to bury him,” Collins said at the time.

“He walked in there blind, he thought this was a business and these are all patriots…there’s a lot of bad people out there.”

Collins believes that if Trump were to lead and win the presidency again, he would have the knowledge and mandate to completely restructure and reform the government, starting with our law enforcement and intelligence communities and working across the board from there. .

Trump has stated that if he chose to go to the White House a third time, nothing would stand in his way of doing so, even if a possible indictment by the DOJ would add additional challenges to his efforts. .

Following the FBI’s raid of his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, which Collins believes was a politically motivated move, Trump and his base are more united than ever before to call on the FBI and DOJ for what many consider to be intentionally malicious behavior.

Trump had been harassed and targeted by the FBI for years, first when they illegally “spy” his 2016 presidential campaign on the basis of alleged collusion with the Russian government, and later when disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok colluded with other anti-Trump agents in the FBI to push the Steele Dossier, only adding to the Russian conspiracy hoax.

Now Republicans, who have generally never been viewed as harsh critics of federal law enforcement, are calling out people like Attorney General Merrick Garland, who went so far as to call Garland’s DOJ “the most corrupt DOJ in history.” .”
