Loki and Black Widow both have new trailers now. The series and film are both expected to be due in less than two months – Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief walks around June 9, with Scarlett Johansson’s returning spy crashing through July 9 – and Marvel Studios released new trailers at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday 2021 to promote them. New Loki the clip features a bit of a joke between Loki (Hiddleston) and Time Variance Authority agent Mobius (Owen Wilson), while the Black Widow clip shows Natasha (Johansson) and Yelena (Florence Pugh) being chased by a woman on a bicycle.
After Mobius introduces himself to Loki in an elevator, the latter asks, “Are you taking me somewhere to kill me?” Mobius replies: “No. This is where you were. I’m taking you somewhere to talk. Loki claims he doesn’t like to talk, but as Mobius then points out, they both know it’s a lie – something Loki likes to do. Mobius then laughs at him by moving his fingers and saying, “Talky, talky.” Loki wonders how long Mobius has been at TVA, to which he says, “Time flies differently here at TVA.” Loki then embarks on a rant about the Keepers of Time, mocking their attempts to “protect the sacred timeline.”
“The idea of your little club deciding the fate of trillions of people throughout existence at the behest of three … space lizards?” Yeah, that’s funny. It’s absurd, ”concludes Loki. Mobius then goes into a final blow with: “I thought you didn’t like talking?”
the Black Widow The clip is much less chatty, with Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova driving the streets of Budapest in a blue BMW X3. They are chased by a helmeted woman on an off-road motorcycle who repeatedly shoots them as they make their way to the city center. Finally, a fed up Yelena shouts, “Okay, do you have a plan or do I just stand aside and cover myself?” Natasha says her plan was to just drive away, which prompts Yelena to complain that her plan “sucks.” Yelena then forces Natasha to turn the car, throws the passenger door which hits a lamppost and pulls the bike out in a quick movement.
As Natasha makes a J-turn and walks away, Yelena casually says, “You’re welcome.”
Loki premieres June 9 on Disney + and Disney + Hotstar worldwide. Black Widow releases July 9 in theaters around the world and on Disney + with Premier Access wherever it’s available.
