Having joined Arsenal for a record £ 72million in 2019, Nicolas Pepe has so far failed to justify his huge price tag.
Pepe has scored five league goals in his debut campaign and has struggled to play consistently under Mikel Arteta this term, making just four Premier League starts.
“We have to help him succeed,” Arteta said after their 2-0 FA Cup victory over Newcastle.
“To do that he needs minutes, he needs consistency in the team and when he has that he has to show that he is capable of doing it. Let’s see how the next few months will evolve. “
While the Ivorian international struggled for form, he recalled his abilities in time during a recent training session.
He showed incredible footwork to pass Willian and Joe Willock before completing an effort in the far corner.
