Today will be hot and sticky with a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon (mainly N&W) with better luck in the city this evening. There is also the potential for strong isolated storms, with the best chances northwest of the city. The main threats with these storms will be locally damaging winds and hail, but an iso tornado is not to be ruled out in our more remote northwest suburbs.
For most of today, expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-80s with temperatures in the 80s above near 90. Also note: a high risk of return currents on the beaches of the south shore today.
Tomorrow will remain unstable with showers / rumblings and even a few showers. And given that this activity will be slow, it appears that anything that develops has the potential to produce localized flooding. Other than that, the weather will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy and a bit cooler with highs only in the 70s.
On Friday there is about a 30% chance of showers with highs in the upper 70s.
