Called cheat codes, the instant messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced shortcut keys for Mac and Windows users. These keys can be used when accessing the application on Windows and Mac web versions.
WhatsApp shared these codes via four images on Twitter. “Final Boss Mode: Unlocked,” reads the caption of the post. Hotkeys will allow users to explore a variety of options such as making a message unread, opening a new chat window, turning off chats, or searching the chat list.
The company has listed different shortcuts for Mac and Windows users and these shortcuts differ when using WhatsApp web or the desktop app. WhatsApp has created four different categories of cheat codes. These are Mac desktop app, Mac browser, Windows desktop app, Windows browser versions.
Shortcut keys for the Mac desktop app
A Windows user can now mark a message as unread using this command Ctrl + Alt + Shift + U.
On Mac browser, press Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + U to mark a message as unread.
To archive a discussion, users must press CMD + E.
If you want to open a new profile, click CMD + P.
If you want to open a new chat, press CMD + N.
For Pin / Unpin, user should press CMD + SHIFT + P.
To search the chat, press CMD + SHIFT + F.
For the new group, the user must press CMD + CTRL + N.
For parameters, the shortcut key is CMD +
To deactivate the chat, the user must press CMD + SHIFT + M.
To delete the chat, press CMD + SHIFT + D.
To search in the discussion list, press CMD + F.
For a new chat, press CMD + N.
You want to open a profile, press CMD + P.
For a return space, press SHIFT + ENTER.
Shortcuts for Mac Desktop Browser
A user must press CMD + CTRL + SHIFT + U to Mark Unread.
You need to press CMD + CTRL + E for Archive Chat.
Shortcuts for the Windows desktop app
If you want to start a new chat, press CTRL + N simultaneously and if you want to open a profile, press CTRL + P.
Users will need to press CTRL + SHIFT + F to search the chat and CTRL + E to archive their chats.
Shortcuts for Windows Desktop Browser
If you need to open a profile, you will need to press CTRL + ALT + P.
To open a new group, you will need to press CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + N.
