Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, despite being a child star, had gone through her own starstruck phase as actor fans do.
During a previous appearance on Koffee With Karan with her brother, actor Abhishek Bachchan, Shweta had spoken of her admiration for Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.
Shweta had said that when Salman’s film “Maine Pyaar Kiya” came out in 1989, she was in boarding school. She watched the movie on a VCR and said she loved it so much that she made Abhishek give her the “ Friend ” cap worn by Salman in the movie.
Shweta had said, “We weren’t allowed to watch movies at school, so I sat there with a tape recorder and recorded everything on an audio cassette, and listened to it. loved and wanted to wear this little cap that says “friend”.
Abhishek assisted her and said he carried several hats from Mumbai to London for her and their cousins. “I used to sleep with it under my pillow,” Shweta said.
Besides Salman, Shweta said that she is also a big fan of superstar Aamir Khan. Abhishek added, “Aamir got to know and so kindly, on every birthday he wrote her a letter.”
Shweta said it was because “we are both Pisces”. For the uninformed, Shweta’s birthday is March 17, just three days after Aamir’s birthday on March 14.
Abhishek also revealed that when they were pursuing their graduate studies in Boston, Shweta had him rent a limousine and drive an hour and a half to watch a live performance of Aamir and Shah Rukh Khan.
Shweta never made a foray into a film career like the rest of her family, however, has appeared in a few commercials with her father Amitabh. She owns a fashion brand, MXS, with designer Monisha Jaising. She is also an author and published her first novel, Paradise Towers, in 2018.
