Rajkumar SharmaVirat Kohli’s former coach has suggested that India’s Arshdeep Singh may have had some influence from famed Pakistani pacesetter Wasim Akram.
He noted that like Wasim Akram, Arshdeep Singh hides the ball in his right hand during the run-up when speaking on India Sports News. He highly praised the left arm and called him a cunning bowler.
When he played against the West Indies on Friday in the first T20I match, Arshdeep was outstanding. Of his full four overs, the gifted bowler allowed only 24 runs, while also taking two significant wickets.
Arshdeep Singh is a very intelligent cricketer: Rajkumar Sharma
Rajkumar Sharma commenting on the bowler said: “It appears that Arshdeep Singh has been following Wasim Akram very closely as he holds the ball in his right hand as he runs to hide it from the batter.

It’s good to see he’s a thinking cricketer. He is still very young and still has a lot to learn. But he is a promising and very intelligent cricketer.”
Reetinder Sodhi noted during the conversation that although Arshdeep has not participated in many international cricket matches, it seems that he is working very hard in the nets.
He said the 23-year-old had proved his worth every time he got the chance. Sodhi also highlighted how consistently the seamer has bowled the Yorker to perfection.
In particular, Singh has had a major impact on the last two Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons. In the most recent tournament, he took 10 wickets and had an economy rate of 7.70.
Arshdeep hopes he can make similar renditions across the series.
