Panna:
A worker and his partners on Monday found a 7.94-carat and a 1.93-carat diamond in a village in Panna, Madhya Pradesh, an official said.
The district collector identified the worker as Bhagwandas Kushwaha and said the two stones, which were mined from a mine near the village of Kitaha, will be auctioned off in March.
“Five of us were digging in a mine when we found these two diamonds. Hopefully this will solve the problems of our families and help fund the education of our children,” Kushwaha told reporters.
Experts said the two stones could fetch Kushwaha and its partners in the range of Rs 35 lakh.
