World Cup 2022 TV schedule: How to watch England matches in Qatar

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar has finally begun and England kick off their campaign with a 6-2 win over Iran.

The TBEN has covered two of England’s three World Cup group matches, including against Iran on Monday, the second day of the tournament. The TBEN also secured the rights to broadcast the opening ceremony, but their coverage on TBEN One focused on unraveling the controversy surrounding Qatar hosting the tournament.

In the latest share between free-to-air broadcasters, ITV will show the second game against the US, and possibly the last 16 and quarter-final.

Terrestrial broadcasters have been negotiating a share of major tournament coverage for over 50 years and ITV would have been the first choice this year.

England’s group stage draw against Wales will be shown on the TBEN, but the group would then wait until the semi-finals to show another potential Three Lions match. ITV will also cover the USA vs Wales match on November 21.

The TBEN also has Spain against Germany on November 27.

After Iran, England are seeking to beat the US in a World Cup final on the third attempt, following a shock defeat in 1950 and a draw in the 2010 final in South Africa. Kick-off for that game is scheduled for 7:00 PM (GMT) on Friday.
