This year’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view kicked off with the SmackDown Chamber match with Kevin Owens vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro vs. Jey Uso vs. Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin. The winner would get an immediate Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns.
A few notes… Zayn initially refused to enter the match and he kept his capsule locked but Cesaro slipped behind him to the other side of the capsule which was also open. Zayn later tried to run away from Cesaro by climbing on a pod. Zayn was knocked down from the side of the chamber onto the steel railing as Cesaro hung from the top of the chamber.
Zayn tried to beg Ownes to work together but KO didn’t want to hear him and he thrust Zayn into the capsule. Then it was Owens against Bryan and Owens for Cesaro for the next few minutes. Jey and KO got into a fight as soon as Jey entered the match. Moments later, Owens hit a moonsault from the top of a pod over the rest of the contestants.
Owens pinned Zayn after hitting the stunner, then Jey Uso slammed the bedroom door on KO’s arm. Uso then gave him a super kick a few times, then followed with the frog splash and the pin. We had several more minutes of Bryan against Cesaro with Bryan favoring his injured left knee (scenario). Jey took out Cesaro with a superkick and a frog splash. Uso also tried to pin Bryan after hitting the frog, but Bryan kicked out. Uso tried a splash from the pod but Bryan lifted his knees up and he hit the running knee to pin Uso.
