Best wishes to WWE Hall of Fame member Jake “The Snake” Roberts.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Roberts was struggling with undisclosed health issues. In a recent appearance, Roberts was in a wheelchair and had an oxygen machine in his nose which he removed when posing for pictures.
Roberts announced last year that he was battling COPD and found it difficult to breathe. COPD is a lung disease that obstructs the flow of air to the lungs.
Roberts said last year, “What I got is worse than COVID. This is something that has been passed down to me through the lineage. It’s not your happy camper thing. These are COPD problems.
Roberts said he didn’t have enough oxygen in his blood and didn’t know how limited it would make him in the future. He also said he couldn’t speak for more than 20 seconds without talking about oxygen. That would explain why he didn’t appear on AEW shows alongside Lance Archer.
