You can try out the new collection of sustainable snow from PE Nation in RA

It’s time to get those credit cards out, athletic fans – active streetwear brand PE Nation just launched its very first sustainable snow collection, and it’s hot enough to melt things away.

Whether your goal is an eco-friendly après-ski outfit or a stylish snowboard ensemble, there is something in the “Sustainable In Snow” collection for everyone.

“This eco-friendly capsule represents a new frontier for PE Nation and we are very proud to launch it globally,” said co-founder Pip Edwards. “When it comes to environmental action, we appreciate that one of the most effective ways to have a positive impact is to choose sustainable fabrics.”

So all of the snow suits in the collection are made from a recycled polyester blend, with 3M THINSULATETM insulation made from 78% post-consumer recycled material.

As a bonus, the pieces also include recycled materials that are sweat-wicking, odor-repellent and quick-drying.

“For us, this is just the start. Our mission is to find products that are not based on polyester or nylon to eventually replace our snow clothes, ”she continues, emphasizing the threat these materials represent for the environment.

According to the researchers, biodegradable fabrics and natural textiles like cotton, silk, wool, cashmere and hemp break down easily – which is better for the environment – while synthetic non-organic ones like polyester, nylon and spandex typically take 20-200 years to decompose.

“Our planet needs us to be better, and as a company we want to do better, so while doing our best to implement the change in our office culture, our packaging, our fabrics, our collections and our personal commitment, we make enormous efforts. on a daily basis in all facets of the company to be more sustainable and ethical, with clear sustainable development objectives for now and in the future, ”she said. “We integrate sustainability and embrace a change-maker mindset into the subjects of daily business here at PE”

Edwards and co-founder Claire Tregoning launched the brand in March 2016 after building a professional and personal relationship as designers for Australian fashion brand sass & bide.

While sustainability was not high on their agenda at the time – just like the rest of the industry – their technical but fashionable approach to athletics took the flourishing market by storm.

Combining luxury finishes and retro accents, global influencers like Kylie Jenner, Margot Robie, Hailey Bieber and Bella Thorne have rushed to give the brand its Inst seal of approval and the rest, as they say, is up to the ‘history.

Slowly but surely, PE Nation added swimwear to its line in 2017, menswear and denim in 2018, and now has over 250 dealers worldwide.

Yet they haven’t forgotten the power that lies in social media.

Along with the new collection, PE Nation has launched an Instagram filter that will transport you to an international snow landscape where you can ‘try on’ selected clothing from the collection in augmented reality (AR).

While the collection features fifteen pieces in its entirety, including chunky knits and base layers, the filter is limited to three “title” snow jackets at this time.

You can access the filters through PE Nation’s Instagram profile and “ wear ” the jackets in selfie mode, or view them in 360 degree snow landscapes using your rear camera.

Edwards says, while this is an exciting opportunity to embed technology into a sustainable initiative, his long-term goals for the company center on promoting and building meaningful relationships with his customers.

“It’s about connecting with our community and raising their vibration,” she says, “finding positivity between current global challenges. We need to stimulate them, encourage physical fitness, well-being and innovation. “

The idea, literally, has an energizing effect on Edwards, who begins to speak enthusiastically about the future of his young company.

“More unisex! More performance! More fashion! No more swimming! No more snow! It is about life on the move and how we can improve and improve the functional and fashionable aspect of movement in our lives – we all want to move forward with ease and confidence!
